Birdwood Park Doorknock

I'm calling on Brisbane City Council to acquire the 6 hectares of vacant land either side of Birdwood Road to establish a new public park, which would provide amazing green space for the growing community in Holland Park, as well as improve flood resilience along Norman Creek, protect a ecologically significant nature corridor, and improve cycling connectivity in the inner south. (Learn more and sign the petition here)

As part of our campaign strategy, and working with local residents, we are aiming to collect thousands of signatures from residents in Holland Park and Holland Park West to show the strong community support for turning this into an enriching public space for the community, while also building flood resilience in Holland Park. Our very ambitious goal is to have more than 50% of residents in those suburbs have signed on to express their support so that we can take this to Council.

So far we’re only 10% of the way there, and we know that we now need to take the petition directly to neighbour's doors and talk to them about it.

If you've never doorknocked before, this is a perfect way to learn how! We'll meet up as a group near the park, and then you'll get to go out and pair up with an experienced doorknocker, and only lead your own conversations if you're feeling comfortable.

RSVP to help make Birdwood Park a reality!
