How to Win a Better Bulimba Peninsula

Like many suburbs across inner-city Brisbane, Bulimba, Balmoral, Hawthorne and Morningside are facing challenges that come with development and a growing population. With the Council approval of the new Bulimba Barracks Master Plan, and the beginning of a new Colmslie Precinct Plan, the existing public and community infrastructure risks being overwhelmed without serious planning and investment for the community.

At the election, we spoke to thousands of residents, and fought for a comprehensive plan for new public parkland, affordable housing, public transport and a reduction in flight noise, as part of a comprehensive solution to the many challenges faced by the Bulimba peninsula.

But we know with a political system so completely disconnected from ordinary people and the issues we face, that my power to fight for you is only as strong as the power we build in the community. We have the opportunity to win a better peninsula - but we need to work together to get it done.

I'll be asking for your feedback on our plans for the local area including new bus routes, a green bridge and public parkland, and discuss how we can work together to make demands of all levels of government, stand up to big developers disregarding the needs of locals, and secure the proper investment our community needs.
