We’re excited to invite you to a free community BBQ to kick off the school holidays at Whites Hill Reserve playground! Join us for a relaxed afternoon with Max and the team, meet new neighbors, and enjoy a break from cooking.
We'll also use this opportunity to chat to residents about the future of the Pine Mountain Quarry.
A couple of months ago we got in touch to ask you to have your say in Brisbane City Council’s consultation process for the future of Pine Mountain Quarry. As your federal Greens MP, and Greens candidate for Greenslopes, we’ve heard from hundreds of people who want to see more native bushland, green space for families and to turn the quarry into a natural swimming hole like Enoggera Reserve, which the Greens have been proposing for some time.
It’s clear that no one wants a major commercialisation of this area. However in recent weeks we’ve heard that that Council is considering turning this site into a “luxury hotel, theme park or wine cellar”
Whether you want to join this discussion or just stop by for a free feed, everyone is welcome to come by for a meal and a chance to connect with other school parents and community members. We’ll have vegan and gluten-free options available, along with activities for the kids.
We understand that many are facing tough times with the rising cost of living, so this is a great opportunity to enjoy a meal on us and welcome the school holidays.
This event is also a chance to meet Rebecca White, your Greens State Candidate for Greenslopes, who will be mingling and chatting throughout the afternoon.
Please RSVP to stay updated in case of any weather changes.
We look forward to seeing you there!
