Back to School: Afternoon in the park

UPDATE: Change of Location to the Smug Fig Cafe due to threat of rain.

More and more families across Griffith are doing it tough. Paying for school resources when you’re struggling to put food on the table shouldn’t even be an option. We have severely underfunded schools across Queensland which means too many families have to pick up the slack and fund these essential items themselves.

So my office, along with the incredible Amy McMahon MP for South Brisbane, and Kath Angus, Candidate for Coorparoo Ward are combining forces to put on a Back to School Afternoon.

There will be music, kids games, food, and the option to grab your kids a free school backpack with stationery to see them through the school year.

Let's work together to make sure no Queensland kid misses out on a quality education.

If you can’t make it along but would like to donate some stationary or school equipment to be given away on the day, we would love donations of new or very good condition backpacks, lunch boxes, or stationary including pens, pencils, exercise books, USB sticks and other essentials.
