Flight Noise Strategy Catch-up

After years of reports and reviews into the new runway, unfortunately the Government just aren’t listening, and so far won’t look at anything which stands in the way of private airport profits. So we’re going to have to force some action. My Greens colleagues and I supporting residents in building protest action this year, with a goal of being big enough that it can no longer be ignored. Following that, we’ll be introducing the Greens flight noise bill into the new parliament and forcing the Government to choose a side.

To pull this off, we need to bring lots of people together around a common strategy. Following on from our strategy forum in Griffith last year, my Greens colleague Stephen Bates is hosting a Flight Noise Strategy Forum on the north-side in February. Right after this meeting, we’ll be able to swiftly share a joint community plan for the whole city to get behind, and invite everybody affected by this issue to get involved and help make it happen.

For Griffith folks who want to chat about this a little sooner, I’m also hosting a Flight Noise Strategy Catch-up on the Hawthorne Rd side of Hawthorne Park.

Please RSVP so we can keep you updated about any changes to this event including any wet weather plans!
