Since being elected in 2022, one of the first things my small team and I set up was the Griffith Free Breakfast Program. What started at one school has now grown to four, with plans to reach six by the end of 2025. In that time, we’ve served around 40,000 breakfasts and had the joy of meeting so many wonderful young people (and their amazing teachers!).
I fund this program out of my salary because I believe in putting my money where my mouth is. While I fight in Parliament for big changes—like universal free breakfasts and lunches in all state schools, and real cost of living relief through cheaper rents and mortgages—programs like this prove to the political establishment that meaningful change is possible right now.
