In support of the Welcome Walk 2024, we’re excited to host a free community breakfast BBQ! Come down to Davies Park, West End on Sunday, August 25th, at 9:15am to enjoy a delicious meal, meet Max and the team, and mingle with new friends. We’ll have vegan and gluten-free options available, plus some fun activities for the kids.

Before breakfast you can join the Welcome Walk at 8am, which is the Romero Centre’s major annual fundraiser and a chance to welcome people seeking asylum in Brisbane. Choose between walking 3km or 6km along the picturesque Brisbane River. Stick around to enjoy cultural performances, coffee, and explore market stalls.

All funds raised will support the Romero Centre’s essential services, including case coordination, food relief, housing support, employment assistance, English classes, social engagement, and emergency relief for people seeking asylum. For more information, head to their cause page HERE. 

We understand that many households are facing tough times right now, so take a break from cooking, bring a picnic blanket, and enjoy a free bite to eat!
